You can only lose what you cling to. After three years of blogging, the time has come to move on and find a new way of keeping myself off the streets. T9000 is being powered down.
This blog represents time and effort and for most of it, I enjoyed myself immensely. A couple of the better posts, and the research they involved, took hours or days of work each. Some have been read by many hundreds (and in one case, thousands) of people. The worst were, admittedly, rubbish. I’ve deleted some posts which have become totally irrelevant with time, and a few more which were clearly of no use to anyone. The rest will stay up here until the domain name expires towards the end of the year. If I had to pick one thing worth saving from the whole lot, it would be Bitter look or flattering word?, a long look at the difficulties, surprises and fatal compromises that several other professions have encountered on the road to heightened regulation.
Many thanks to those kind folks who have supported me and said nice or useful things, both about the blog and in my work as an interpreter. You’re all big sweeties. See you around the block, and keep on mother-trucking.
